A couple of cards

So, I am finally able to add these cards to my blog. We had a couple of challenges on "If the shoe fits". Now one of these challenges I had to use the colors purple and green, yes, purple and green! I tell you that was a challenge for me. I didn't think I was ever going to figure out how to get those two colors to mesh. Both colors are beautiful by themselves, but together was a whole other foe me, lol! Needless to say, I pulled it off and this was what I came up with.

This next card was for the Mother's Day card Challenge. I had a little bit of scrappers block with this as well, (not sure what's up with me, lol). I thought I would make it plain and simple, well, no that was not the case. One thing led to another, butterflies cames into play and hey....you now how the rest goes. Also what I love about this, is I tried something new, I used crackle paint on my stamp, the pink one. I find that it only works well with certain stamps though. Short & Sweet

Not really much to say tonight, trying to get outta here so I can go shoot pool with my husband, and whip his ____! LOL. So I will just show a LO that had me in a funk for some time, but finally got it together. I was also going to show another project I made, but just remembered I can't, lol, I am oing to use it for our blog, so you will have to wait just a bit. Good Night Enjoy~

A day at the Virginia Beach Zoo

So Sunday my husband gets this great idea to go to the zoo, in 93 degree weather! But, the kids had a great time, so it was all good. I took like a million pictures as usual and my Nya as always posed. I not quite sure why, but I have to bribe my son to let me get photos of him (or sneak them). Morgan will usually let me take them if he sees his sister is getting all of the attention.

Now tell me why Nya had to sit in both chairs, and she did not want to get out of them either!
Now here's one more! We were waiting for the little 2.00 a ride train. Now let me tell you, this train is supposed to take you around the zoo, and show you the animals that in in the outskirt of it. Yeah, tell me why, the trip consisited of half animals, and half construction of the animals habitats that would be there next year! You get what you pay for, right?
I have been a little dissapointed with my pics lately, ever since my lens (70mm-300mm) broke. I hoped to get it fixed within the next week or two so I can try to get back on my game, lol!

Early to rise....whatever!

Tell me why it is 4:36am and I am not in the bed! As tired as I am too, lol, but I guess I needed to get this post on, or it would be another two weeks before I updated. I still have a lot of projects to get done and it seems as if I am running out of time. But make sure to check back, because I am going try to make it point, (keyword is try) to update before the weekend is out.

So I had a color challenge to do, and the colors were pale blue and cream (Beautiful combo by the way) this is what I came up with. It was pretty simple, and I actually wish I had spent more time on it. I used a bit of crackle paint(which I am in love with) around the edges of the title and the journal box. I also used it on the arrow. The sparrow like bird is from inkadinkadoo (of course). Can't quite remember, but I think that border is from Prima, I bought it last minute and used it right away. For those that are new to following me, that is my baby girl Nya, and she is such a poser!

Next I have the "Pink & Brown" not every ones favorite combo, but it is absolutely one of mine! I actually used a technique I have never tried before, I mixed my green glimmer mist with my pink(tattered rose) crackle paint then heat dried until it starting bubbling a bit, to give it an even aged look. I used this on the cute swirly like grunge board. Well ladies on that note, I can't take it anymore, I am beat! Night, or shall I say good morning?

OHYIF! (Oh heck yeah, its Friday!)

So, I am getting a little better with posting, I think. I will actually post this weekend on some projects I have working on. I'm a busy girl, so it's hard. So on to some good stuff. Updates Finally, LOL!

Oh Wow! Has it realy been two weeks since my last update? Well, shame on me! I have actually got quite a bit done though. So I am going to show you a couple of LO's and Cards I have been working on, hope you enjoy!

Okay, so I had so much fun with LO, it was a sketch challenge from Kristy on our blog, and a fun sketch I do say! This I believe has got to be my most Fav LO to date. You know, I cannot find that minnie mouse purse to save my life? Hmmm...

This a JoyLuck Card I made, you can find the directions on our blog "iftheshoefitsscrapit". But Tracey hosted this challenge, and a challenge it was! The sentiment I have stamped is so true! But I had fun with it. I used some of Tim Holtz's Products. Crackle Paint, mixed with Glimmer Mist.

This next card challenge was hosted by Lesley! We had to take this image and use it in a card, so this was what I came up with. I so love these stamps, Inkadinka doo!

Okay last but not certainly not least, this challenge is from our Sponsor "Scrap-a-doodledoo" the paper was too darn sweet. I really thought this was a cute and innocent kit to play with. I do however think I could of done a lot better with this.

Birthday Wishes

Okay, so it's been bee like what, two weeks since I've last updated? Hmph, and I thought I was getting better! Well anywho, these last two weeks have been go go go! I have managed to squeeze in a couple of projects though, which are featured as well, on our blog " if the shoe fits scrap it". Heehee.

This first project was a project hosted by Lesley. I had to make a card that had at least been embossed twice, so I tried something a little out of my element, I used coasters, embroidery thread, embossed with my cuddle bug and heat embossed using a stamp. I used the thread to hold the two pieces together and covered the thread with flowers. Here is what I came up with.

I am going to add more to this, hopefully this week such as distressing. I believe besides sewing, distressing has got to be one of my most favorite techniques. So when I finish, I will be sure to upload a pic of how it turned out.

Now, for a little non scrap talk; the Ipod touch has got to be one of the coolest MP3 players out there! I have just upgraded from my Zune(microsoft) and spoiled myself with this all in one gadget. I recommend that if you decide to get one, DO NOT get the 8GB, spluge a little and pay a little extra for a 16GB. This little gadget is really cool and lets you hook up wi-fi to the internet, check email, play games, keep notes, phone numbers, calendar, and thats just the tip of the iceberg! I am telling you, normally I would say"GOOGLE IT" no this time "YOU TUBE IT"! No unfortunately I am not being paid for this little ad, darn it!

New future experiments, endeavors; I will be working with grunge board (finally), Tim Holtzs Masks, Sizzix embossing folders, CTMH "Bunny Love" stamps, Distress crackle paint, also from Tim.

Note: Glimmer mist + Grunge Board = Fabulosity!

All right I just got home from a trip I originaly was not supposed to go on, (North Carolina), so I am going to bed, so I can have a fine Navy day in morning, LOL!!!

It's been a long week! Whew, here's another one.

So this week has been so freakin hectic, I tell ya! Too much to even really talk about, l0l, so I will not bore you with too many details. Just know that the military life and the scrapbooking life are two different animals that mix like oil and water!

~Side Note~ My Pics are starting to cut off for some crazy reason, more than likely it's called "Operator Error" if you know how I can fix it, please, please help me!

It seems as if I just do not have enough time in the day to do what I want and need to do. I have help (mom & mil), but still, that does not totally get me off being a parent to my children and tending to their needs. But, they are a great help!

Next Topic~ So, I have been talking about this blog " http://www.iftheshoefitsscrapit.blogspot.com/" and speaking of, I am hosting a new ATC challenge just for St. patty's day! So what if you aren't Irish, this will really fun for to try if you have not already and have not gotten totally addicted. ATC's, what can I say, they are unique and so your own style and the only rule is that the card be between 2 1/2 and 3 and 1/2 inches. Voila, that's it! So come over and check out this challenge, and guess what it puts you in a drawing for a prize at the end of the month!

Next Topic ~ My card! So this is another challenge I am hosting on "if the shoe fits...Scrap it" ! It is a friendship card. The challenge is to have the word Friend or Friendship and also have the color yellow in it, since yellow is the color for friendship. You can still get in on this challenge until Wednesday, March 18 th. Here was my take on it.

Another day in the life of moi!

So I get a fab award from my friend Lesley yesterday. Talk about too excited! It's my first so I could not help it. Pretty cool huh? Here it is.

Next Topic~ My mom is here! Yay me! I love my mom with my heart and soul, and knows she feels the same about me. So it's pretty cool for her close up her home to come live with us for about a year. We can all keep each other company no matter how crazy we may drive each other, lol. She has already started on a war path, but, in a good way. Today, she covered up the evidence of mydaughters first wall art! Go mom! Oh don't even let me get started on my room! I felt like I was living in her house. But my mom is reat, she keeps me focus and clutter free (which is our next project).

Next Topic~ So I went on Vacation a few weeks back, so my goal is to show at least one pic from the vacation in every post. Enjoy ~ Leave a comment if ya don't mind, I'd love to hear what you think.

I'm baaaaaack!

What a couple of months this has been! So much has happened since I last wrote. For one I went on a Disney, Sea World and Universal Studios vacation with my kids, my aunt and my cousin. What a time we had! I have too many pictures to count, lol, so better believe they will end up here, hehehe.

Lets see... hmmm... Myself and some friends of mine have started a new blog called, "If the shoe fits...Scrap it"! It's a challenge blog, and a way for us to show off a few of our talents with the world. So come on over and check us out, lets us know what you think. There are also monthly prizes! Nice right?

This is a card that I did today for my friend Tracey, her challenge on our blog was to use the colors orange and lime green. Okay, can I say that was seriously challenging for me? But, I managed to pull through, and this is what I came up with.
